Frequently Asked Questions
Want to learn a little more about us?
Akaia Blends felt it was important to be open and honest with our consumers. We support transparency and want to share all the ingredients used in our formulas with you! So you too can know exactly what's in your products, no secret ingredients or "special fragrance blends" here.
As well as listed on the website under 'meet all of the ingredients' you also receive a detailed description in your order about your product, what's in the product, it's purpose and it's benefits.
Yes, unfortunately there was a trademark issue with our former name and we decided to rebrand. We also love our new name so much more!
If you’re new to using face oils, we recommend to start by using the facial oil daily at night for at least a week before introducing it twice a day. You don't have to use it twice a day, those with skin on the drier side may enjoy using twice a day. Once a day at night is ok.
You must also still use a moisturiser alongside your facial oil, although hydrating, facial oils and moisturisers have different benefits and it's best to use both.
Some of our products are 100% natural like our facial oils, but in our face creams we use small amounts of synthetic active ingredients like Vitamin B3 and Allantoin to enhance the products efficiency, these ingredients are made to mimic the the same properties as the natural sources and are also safe and nontoxic. The natural ingredients we do use in Akaia Blends are naturally derived from plants and manufactured in such a way to preserve the integrity of the ingredients. We source all of our ingredients from local NZ suppliers.
Yes, we are a vegan and cruelty-free company. We do not use ingredients from animal origin as well as animal by-products like honey and bees wax.
No products are tested on animals and we source our ingredients from suppliers who do not test on animals. We love our furry friends.
Please read conditions on the label, if they’re not there, it’s best to store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, and under 30 degrees. It is safe to keep products in the fridge if you need too.
